Facts About Eugene Atget

Eugene Atget is a famous photographer known for taking pictures of his surroundings in places such as Paris, France. He was born on February 12, 1857, and he died on August 4, 1957 at Paris. His pictures were not taken with any color, since at the time, they did not have any cameras that provide color. His pictures were only brown, black, and white.

The picture on the top is a picture of Gurbaaz Brar standing my some lockers located in the E-Wing of Mission San Jose High School. The picture on the top is the way the picture is taken without the edits of the picture on the bottom, which was edited on Adobe Photoshop to match what Eugene Atget would have taken.

Eugene Atget: Second Pair of Pictures

These two pictures are of Gurbaaz Brar. The picture on the top is basically the original version, which basically means that is how it is supposed to look like without being edited. The picture on the bottom is the same picture as the top, but was edited on Photoshop to match what Eugene Atget would have taken.

Eugene Atget Project: First Pair of Pictures

These two pictures are the same picture based on Rudy Estrada sitting on the top of the bell tower, while James Qiao is sitting at the bottom playing on his phone. Second Portrait

This is my second portrait, and it is of a sophomore girl who also took a second portrait of me. This was taken on Friday, October 24, 2014, and she wore yellow, because during Homecoming, yellow is the color that sophomores wear. She was standing on the first step of the bell tower with her arms crossed.

Three Rules of Composition

I am using the Rule of Background, Rule of Depths, and Rule of Thirds. In the background, there is a kite and a tree behind the gecko. The rule of depth also ties in with this, since it shows a huge depth perception between the gecko, kite, and tree. The rule of thirds ties in with this, since the kite area in the right side takes up one third, the gecko's left eye in the center takes up another third, and the gecko's center of the face on the left side takes up the final third.

Rules of Photography Composition

1. Rule of Thirds
2. Rule of Depths

Portrait of Somebody Else

This is a portrait of James Qiao standing by some lockers in the E-Wing of Mission San Jose High School. I had edited this picture by cropping out a part of the picture the way it originally was when there was bright white light shining on the lockers that took the background from that area, which would have made the right side of this photograph bad if I did not crop that part out.

Third Photo Assignment: Third Rule

                                                                                                  Karthik Palakkattil
                                                                                                          Period 1

This is a picture of Gurbaaz Brar standing by the left side of lockers during first period at the E-Wing in Mission San Jose High School. I had used the Rule of Background in this picture, because in the background, there is his shadow. Also, the texture of the wall is easily visible, and the locker with the lock attached is also part of the background.

This is a picture of Brian standing at the top of a concrete staircase at Mission San Jose High School during first period on a rainy morning on Thursday, September 25th, 2014. The rule of photography used in this picture is the Rule of Depth. This is because it shows the depth of the staircase and all the slopes. It even shows the slope of the basketball court and the grassy field in the background.

This is a picture of Rudy Estrada standing on a concrete walkway between the quad and the E-Wing of Mission San Jose High School during first period. I had used the rule of thirds in this case, because the dirt on the left is one third of the ground, the concrete walkway he is standing on is another third of the ground, and the area with plants on the ground is the other third in this picture.
